Lifting the lid on misrepresentation
FROM JUST THE FRONT PAGE...

PLAYGROUND TRUTHS
This leaflet has suggested that a playground on the Meadow
could be provided for the same money
that was allocated to a local Arts Project...
It promotes spending the £6000 (or more accurately £5,700)
on a large urban style playground for the tranquil Millennium Meadow.
It claims that the Meadow, is Whitchurch's greatest potential amenity.
Many would say it's already the best amenity Whitchurch possesses,
and that a playground would destroy its unique peaceful qualities,
teaming with flora, wildlife and history.
BUT IT THEN SAYS
"The Millennium Meadow stands empty and under-utilised."
THE TRUTH
Have a look at just some of the activities...
Pond Dipping • Carnival Queen Crowning • Whitchurch Festival Fete
Punch and Judy Shows • Scence Laboratories • Children's parties • Whitchurch Dog Days
Open Air Theatre • Hot Air Balloon launches • Meadow Detectives • GreenAware events
Star Gazing • Walks • Nature Trail • Picnics....
and of course its tranquil and stress-free character.
So, - is it empty and under-utilised?
Doesn't look like it here....

Rather than spend £5700 on a Community Arts Project
the writer would rather spend over FOUR TIMES THAT SUM on a Playground on the Meadow.
Like this...

...and that's despite the fact that there is already a
Council funded playground just 500 metres away.
Good Value? Truthful?
Good for the Meadow?
